elderly and the disabled. Animal Housecalls of Maine also offers
seniors a discount on all non-taxable services. Stay-at-home
parents also appreciate the alternative of having the veterinarian
come to them. They can avoid the hassle of getting the kids and
the pets in the car, traveling to the hospital and then waiting to see
the doctor. A house call saves time and avoids the aggravation of
travel.

Pets also appreciate the house call veterinarian. Cats that hate
riding in the car, puppies that get car sick, and pets that become
stressed at the veterinary clinic are much more relaxed in their
own homes. Pets are happy and at ease when they are home

There are some limitations to the services that Animal Housecalls
of Maine provides. If an animal is seriously ill and needs to be
treated in a hospital setting, we will refer you to a full-service
veterinary facility. If it sounds like this may be the case when you
call us, we may suggest going directly to a hospital versus waiting
for the house call and then being referred. Certain emergency
situations will be better served at a full-service hospital. We can
help make this determination when you call.

Animal Housecalls of Maine is staffed with one veterinarian and
one veterinary assistant. To be able to treat your animal effectively
each day, we will be unable to take emergency calls overnight.
Often these emergencies require hospitalization and intensive
care that we would not be able to provide. After 6 pm each night
we will refer emergencies to one of the area emergency clinics.
